Approximately $100,000 in grants to the Cotesworth Culture & Heritage Center (501(c)3 non-profit) from the Mississippi Legislature, championed by Mississippi State Senator Lydia Chassaniol, have recently been put toward some of the urgent restoration needs at Cotesworth. Among the urgent repair projects is the historically significant Caretaker’s Cottage at the Cotesworth Culture & Heritage Center, Carroll County, Mississippi. (above), which was in danger of collapse from a failing foundation. The work was approved by the Mississippi State Department of Archives and History. The foundation has been replaced appropriately and soundly. Here are some before and after photos:
