“Please join us for a weekend of music, celebration, and remembrance at the 2025 Mississippi John Hurt & Jerry Richardson Educational Center (MJHJREC) Grand Opening and Homecoming Festival! Saturday, October 4th will be highlighted by a dedication ceremony for the newly constructed MJHJREC, followed by performances from Nick Wade, DJ Gray, Mike Nelson, Buck Hoffman & Drew Fisher, Gabriel N. Akins, Craig Sonnenfeld, Jim Crosby, KwannyKa$h Petty, Robb Roaten, Paul West, and Andy Cohen, Dee Robinson, & Eleanor Ellis. Saturday will close with a screening of “A Man Called Hurt: The Life and Music of Mississippi John Hurt”. Join us Sunday afternoon for a memorial walk to the St. James Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, where Daddy John rests eternal.
